The Historic Mission Inn, Riverside, CA
National Philanthropy Day® is the day set aside to remember and recognize the impact philanthropy—charitable giving, volunteering and engagement—has made in our world. The day was first celebrated in 1986 in the U.S. with a proclamation from President Ronald Reagan. It is now celebrated in more than 100 communities around the world and been recognized permanently by the government of Canada.
Please join the Inland Empire Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) as we honor the spirit of philanthropy.
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Morning Workshop
"Women are Transforming the Philanthropic Landscape", Presented by Abbie J. von Schlegell, CFRE
If men and women fundraisers cultivate and ask for gifts in the same style and manner in which we have always asked men, or push women to give to the same causes that persuade men, we are leaving money on the table. Learn about the latest research on why, what, how and when women give. Listen to a panel of philanthropic women from various cultures. Leave with a new prospective on how to raise more funds from women because you intend to take advantage of the knowledge made available at this session.
Please join us. Both women and men are invited.
Abbie has been in the development field for over 40 years, as a consultant with several national firms for half of her career and as a senior development officer with four institutions. She has special expertise in women’s philanthropy. She will moderate a panel of high-level women donors to discuss the differences in gender giving.
Cost: $25 members/$40 non-members.
